Overcoming Fear and Rediscovering my Worth

I remember the first time someone told me that. I was in a spiral, heading right down into one of the lowest points in my life. Those words were like the life preserver that helped pull me out.
We all start somewhere, go through the ups and downs of life, and have the ability to make the choice. We can choose to let the downs pull us down, or we can let them teach us a lesson and change our lives for the better. I always say your past can make you better or it can make you bitter, your choice. Only ever look back to see how far you’ve come, not how many times you’ve fallen.
In this week’s podcast, I was so excited to not only kick off this new adventure, but to introduce (or re-introduce) myself. I’m Claire Fealy and I truly changed myself from the inside out.
Between the years of 2018 and 2021, I experienced the lowest lows and highest highs of my life- and I wouldn’t change a thing. During the first of those years, I was so focused on being perfect and only changing the outside, that I wasn’t seeing the results that I wanted. I definitely wasn’t feeling better. That’s when I started to realize that the outside wasn’t the problem- it was actually my thoughts. It was what I was saying to myself about work, being on the hamster wheel, feeling stressed, feeling exhausted.
That’s when I started to change things. I started working with a therapist, I started working on finally healing past trauma, and I started working on loving myself for every piece of ‘Claire’ there is. I stopped relying on the approval of others to be happy. I realized that the only person in charge of my happiness was myself!
When I continued to work on myself, the teacher in me realized that this is what I wanted to teach. I wanted to share my journey with the world and help others grow from their own experiences. But how?
There are so many people we see going after their dreams and goals, and we think it’s because they don’t have fear. They must be incredibly confident, right? But we all have fear- it’s primal. The difference between us and them is that they control their fear, their fear doesn’t control them.
Although this journey can be scary (trust me, I literally turned off my phone after I posted my first Instagram post), it is so worth it if I can make a difference and let people know that no one is alone.
I am so happy to share my message with you and share even more inspiring stories with you over the next few months. This is just the beginning and I hope you’re here for the ride.
Remember - self-worth is freedom. When you reconnect with your self-worth you are free to enjoy life. You are free to improve your life, because you WANT TO and not because you feel like you HAVE to to prove yourself. There’s a big difference. Life is just so much more fun when you know your inherent and unconditional self-worth. You are worthy because you were born. PERIOD.
