Forming a Foundation of Self Worth [01:30]
- âSelf worth is different from self esteem. Self worth is the idea that we deserve to be alive, be loved and deserve great things.ââ [02:20]
- âConfirmation bias is your brain saying, âI knew this was going to happen, I knew he would do that, I knew she would do that, I confirmed my belief, I am happy out.ââ [03:50]
- âIt doesnât matter what you have on the outside that either confirms your self worth or rejects it, if you cant determine your own unconditional self worth you will spend your life in survival mode.â [05:00]
- âThen we fall to the coping strategies that very temporarily take away the noise of not being good enough- but because they donât give us what we actually need, they reinforce that âWhatâs wrong with me?â feeling.â [6:30]
- âIt doesnât matter what we want in life if we donât believe we are worthy of having it we either wonât attempt to go for it or when we get it we canât let ourselves enjoy it.â[8:10]
- âWhy am I so unhappy? I have everything I ever wanted.â [8:50]
- âSeparate your self worth from the outside. You are worthy because you are born.â [9:35]
- âI am worthy because I am here. I am not worthy because of how much I get done. I am not worthy because of my relationship status. I am not worthy because of how many followers I have or how many likes I get.â [11:20]
- âItâs never too late, or too early, to develop that unconditional self worth.â [12:20]
Strategies for Self Worth Transformation [12:30]
- âStep 1 is awareness. You canât change what youâre not aware of.â [12:45]
- âThe only way you can start using your brain so it works for you, not against you, is awareness.â [13:20]
- âI want you for 1 minute, before you brush your teeth, to do self awareness. You are noticing, observing, and not judging. Be the observer.â [16:50]
- âAnother thing that helps with self awareness is journaling. Just having a blank page and doing a brain dump.â [17:55]
- âAnother thing that helps with self awareness is talking to others.â [18:05]
- âCatch criticism and turn it into compassion.â [18:50]
- âNobodyâs life is made better by you being hard on yourself.â [19:50]
- âMirror Work: Looking yourself in the eye and giving yourself the approval, validation, attention and affection that youâre constantly looking for inside of yourself.â [21:25]
